Deaths.

Michael P. Daum, Technical Support Manager of Testing Machines Inc., recently died. Daum joined TAPPI in 1989 and served on several committees of the Process and Product Quality and Corrugated Containers Divisions. He was an active participant in almost all Standard-Specific Interest Groups reviewing test methods and was a member of the Quality and Standards Management Committee and the ANSI/TAPPI Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 6.

Donations to a trust fund for Christopher Daum, his 10-year-old son, may be sent to: PMB 104, 334 Long Beach Road, Oceanside, NY, 11572.

William A. Hubiak, director of manufacturing services for Packaging Corporation of America, passed away unexpectedly April 9, 2002. Hubiak had been an active TAPPI member since 1979. tie also served on several committees of the Corrugated Containers Division. The family has established the William A. Hubiak Memorial Fund. Donations can be sent to Mary Harker, PCA, (1W-551), 1900 West Field Court, Lake Forest, IL 60045.

Arthur H. Hupp died March 10, 2002. Hupp retired from Dunn Paper (James River) in 1992. He had been a TAPPI member since 1951. As a TAPPI member he was actively involved in the Coating and Graphic Arts Division and chairman of the National Annual Meeting Committee and the Kalamazoo Valley Section.

Philip K. Leung, a member of TAPPI since 1983, passed away.

William K. Thorndike, a member of TAPPI since 1960, passed away. Thorndike was actively involved in TAPPI. He served on the Coating Process Committee and served as promotions chairman for the Coating Conference.
