Death trap car pulled over.

POLICE pulled over a "death trap" car - which had a broken bonnet and TAPED UP air bags.

Officers from Merseyside's Roads Policing Unit yesterday announced a male had been summoned to court and his vehicle seized after he was spotted driving a silver Volvo which had clearly been involved in an accident. Images posted to Twitter show the car with a dented bonnet, with another showing how the air bag in the steering wheel was covered in gaffer tape.

The passenger-side air bag also appeared to have been cut open, with a huge gash in the dashboard. In the background of one of the pictures, a police car is visible - indicating the car was pulled over.

Officers took to the Roads Policing Unit's official account, tweeting: "Driver thought it was acceptable to drive in car with damage, airbags taped shut and other faults. Vehicle seized, male summonsed. #Deathtrap."
