Death toll of Alipur food poisoning case touches 15.

MULTAN -- With expiry of seven-year-old child Sassi at the Nishtar Hospital in wee hours of Tuesday, the death toll of food poisoning case of Alipur reached to 15 people. Director Accident and Emergency ward Dr Amjad Chandio told reporter here today that Sassi breath her last at ward no 20, adding that Amjad s/o Akram, husband of prime suspect of the case, Asia, was the first expiry in the Nishtar Hospital. He said seven patients were still admitted to the hospital out of total 23 who had landed with poisonous Lassi intake.

Dr Chandio said two patients were being treated at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while four were at High Dependency Unit (HDU) while one patient was discharged.

It is worth mentioning here that prime suspect, Asia, and her two accomplice- Shahid and Zarina Mai- were apprehended by police on Monday for their allegedly involvement in Alipur tragedy.
