Death of NRC veteran Gunn.

ERIC GUNN, the longest-serving staff member at the Northern Racing College, has died after a short illness.

Gunn, the NRC's training yard maintenance assistant, began working as a stable lad at the college near Doncaster on a casual basis in April 1986, before joining the staff full-time a year later.

"Eric was typical of the best sort of hard-working backroom staff without whom an organisation like ours cannot function to its maximum," NRC director Jim Gale said. "We will miss him, and extend our deepest sympathy to his family."
