AS the election is set for May 5 polls show Labour's lead on the Conservatives down, despite the Howard Flight fiasco. But most readers don't trust the Tories.

READER G Yeomans says he or she doesn't like Labour's negative campaigning (Dear Mirror, March 29), but I feel it's Tory politicians and their supporters who are negative.

Michael Howard singled out one NHS patient who had to wait a long time for a shoulder operation, but failed to mention the first-class treatment his mother received in hospital.

He says Blair is jumping on Jamie Oliver's bandwagon with school dinners, but the Tories destroyed them.
