Dear Mirror: The great debate: Blair has got our nicks in a twist.

Byline: John Read

AS part of our Reclaim Our Streets campaign, we revealed that three police stations a month are being shut down despite the government's promise to crack down on crime. Here are your views...

THE government claiming that suburban police stations are being closed to modernise the force is shameless spin.

It's clearly a short-sighted cost-cutting exercise.

But there may be a solution: suburban stations could be replaced with high street police shops.

People could drop in and report concerns about their neighbourhood and get to know their bobby.

Local problems could be reported quickly and the loutish behaviour so common these days could be nipped in the bud.
