Dear Jo: Readers Letters.

Ban cruel circuses

I READ your article about the accused postman Bill Ace, and as usual, all the sympathy is targeted to dog lovers. I am against cruelty but I suggest you put yourself in the postman's shoes.

An average postie will deliver to housing areas with up to a 1,000 houses. They are given no protection against guard dogs or stray dogs or any vicious dog - big or small.

They have to go to premises each day knowing they might be attacked as most dog owners are in my opinion irresponsible.
