Dear Gerrie: Just wait, Pinochet.

Byline: Carol Mason Liverpool

I READ with disgust (The Mirror, Dec 21) that General Pinochet is still evading being put on trial for murder and kidnapping during his 17-year reign of terror in Chile.

First, he fooled doctors in the UK into believing he was too ill to stand a court trial. They sent him home to die - whereupon he made a miraculous recovery on the steps of the plane.

Then he was supposed to have been days from death with pneumonia. That was weeks ago, and once again he has escaped a court hearing.

That monster has more lives than an alley-cat, but, with luck, he will use them all up in time, then watch out, Pinochet!
