Dean Emeritus of Stevens Institute of Technology Dr. James J. Tietjen Joins SynQuest Board.

SynQuest, Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNQ) today announced Dr. James J. Tietjen, dean emeritus of Stevens Institute of Technology and former president and CEO of SRI International, has joined the SynQuest board of directors. As a board member, Dr. Tietjen will provide extensive technical expertise as SynQuest continues to make advancements with its web-enabled supply chain solutions for enterprise and trading communities.

At Stevens Institute, Dr. Tietjen has held positions of head of the management and engineering departments and most recently was Dean and Dean Emeritus of the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management. At SRI, he led an organization of 3,000 professionals in major technical developments in diverse fields, including advanced cancer drugs and unique communications systems. Prior to SRI, Dr. Tietjen held executive positions with David Sarnoff Research Center and RCA Laboratories. Tietjen holds a B.S. in Chemistry from Iona College, and a M.S. and a Ph.D in Physical Chemistry from Penn State University.
