Byline: JOHN LAWLESS Rugby League reporter

SECOND-ROW forward Chris Dean has been named in the Widnes squad to face arch rivals Warrington Wolves tomorrow night.

Dean has yet to appear so far this season after suffering a bicep injury.

Prop forwards Greg Burke and Sam Brooks are also back in contention with three-quarter Stefan Marsh also returning to the initial 19 named by head coach Denis Betts.

Half-back Joe Mellor and front-rower Alex Gerrard are set for just their second appearances of the campaign after coming back from injury to play in last Friday's 30-4 defeat at Wakefield.

Warrington coach Tony Smith has made two enforced changes to his squad after seeing his side pick up their first win of the season at home to Leeds Rhinos last weekend.

Ex-St Helens forward Andre Savelio is back in the fold alongside French pack man Benjamin Jullien.

Forward Ben Westwood misses out through suspension with Mike Cooper also sidelined with an ankle injury.

The loser of tomorrow night's encounter will find themselves propping up the Betfred Super League table.

Meanwhile, the competition sponsor has installed former St Helens forward David Fairleigh as favourite to take over as Saints boss from Keiron Cunningham who was sacked this week.

The 46-year-old Australian played for Saints back in 2001 and is currently an assistant coach at National Rugby League (NRL) side North Queensland Cowboys.

Fairleigh is rated an 11/8 shot with fellow Aussies David Furner, Geoff Toovey and Jason Demetriou also well fancied.

Former bosses Ian Millward and Daniel Anderson are rated 16/1 and 50/1 respectively.

Current backroom boys Sean Long and Paul Wellens are further down the list at 100/1.
