Dealer jailed.

A DEALER who stuffed drugs into woollen socks and hid them in motorcycle leathers in his garden shed has been jailed.

Alan Metcalfe had con-victions for drug offences and had already served a jail sentence for supplying Ecstasy when he was caught, Durham Crown Court was told.

Police who raided his home in Medomsley Road, Consett, discovered two separate amounts of cannabis, worth pounds 55 and pounds 16, in his bedroom.

Outside they found the 13 "golfball-sized"pack-ages of amphetamine in the leathers.

David Crook, prosecut-ing, said the haul was worth pounds 2,862. Police also found pounds 730 at the house.

Metcalfe was jailed for 18 months. The court also ordered the confiscation of pounds 530 of cash in the house.
