ZAC Efron cheated death while filming a survival documentary - called Killing Zac Efron.
The Greatest Showman actor was reportedly struck down with a deadly bacterial infection that triggered "a life or death medical emergency".
The 32-year-old had to be flown from Papau New Guinea to Brisbane, Australia, for life-saving treatment before finally being given the all clear on Christmas Eve.
Dr Glenn McKay, director of Medical Rescue, confirmed they "retrieved a US citizen in his 30s from PNG to Brisbane for medical attention in Australia".
Zac's new adventure series follows the High School Musical hunk as he treks through jungles and tries to survive in the wild.
