Deadlines loom on postal vote.

ELECTORS in Dudley who want to make changes to their postal or proxy vote arrangements were urged today not to miss the deadline.

New postal vote applications, amendments to or cancellation to existing postal or proxy votes for the May 3 local election must be with the electoral registration office at Kudos House, 3 Ednam Road, Dudley, by 5pm on April 18.

Postal votes are more flexible than ever as voters can now have one for any election, for a set period or as a permanent arrangement. Postal votes for this year's election will be sent to residents before April 27.

People who will be away before the postal votes are issued can appoint someone to vote on their behalf as a proxy. New applications to vote by proxy must be received by 5pm on April 25.

Residents can get an application for a postal or proxy vote by telephoning the election helpline on 01384 814740 or visit the electoral registration office at Kudos House, 3 Ednam Road, Dudle, y or www.dud ley.gov.uk.
