Dead tot was 'forgotten' in car back seat.

A TODDLER died locked in a car after one of its parents forgot to drop the 16-monthold child at nursery. The tot was left in the company car park in Switzerland for several hours. Neuchatel prosecutor Marc Remy said the parent "went to work, forgetting to leave the baby in the usual childcare facility".

He said: "It was not until the end of the working day when they went to pick up their child, they realised the tragedy that had occurred."

A criminal inquiry has been opened, but the prosecutor said they would not be releasing any further details of the case.

The tragedy happened in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which is near the French border.
