David Prentice's column: More moments of madness in Sun.
THE Sun newspaper has once again displayed its uncanny gift for bolting stable doors the day after a horse has bolted.
The newspaper which disgusted the whole of Merseyside 14 years ago, then attempted a pitiful and unsuccessful damage limitation exercise, has done it again.
One of the nation's favourite sporting sons is diagnosed as suffering from mental illness.
The Sun's knee-jerk reaction? A headline screaming: ``Bonkers Bruno''!
The insensitive and offensive wording was replaced before the paper's full print run,but not before the damage had been done.
In true Sun traditions, the tone the following day was completely different.
``Sun's Fund For Bruno'' was the splash, supplemented by ``Dig Deep . . . like Bruno did for Britain'' -headlines carrying all the sincerity of a Jennifer Lopez marriage vow.
Ignore them, and make your own donations to the many excellent mental health organisations which exist to provide counselling, support and treatment for sufferers like Frank Bruno.
