Daughter walks in memory of mum.

A DAUGHTER who lost her mum to cancer this year will be taking part in a charity midnight walk to raise money for a hospice.

Kimberly Maymond, 24 from Ruabon will take part in the Ladies' Midnight Walk on June 25 to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice, who cared for her mum, Cynthia earlier in the year.

Nightingale House, in Wrexham, provides specialist palliative care services, free to patients and their families, who are living with life limiting illnesses such as cancer, across a wide area from Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.

Kimberley said "I am doing the walk to help raise money for Nightingale House. I had never experienced their services until my mum Cynthia Maymond was diagnosed with cancer and was looked after there.

"My mum was in Nightingale House for only a week, but the care and support they gave was amazing. Not only did they look after my mum in her final days, but they looked after me as well, making sure that I was ok, so that I could be strong for her."

This year alone, it will cost pounds 2.46m to run the hospice. ? It costs pounds 12 to register for the walk, on 01978 314292 or
