Dated comedy a little hit & miss.

HIT & RUN 100mins 15 5 MTV comedian Dax Shepard writes, directs and stars in a patchy black comedy along with his real-life squeeze Kristen Bell.

o He plays the dishevelled Charlie Bronson, who lives in Nowheresville, USA, after going into a witness-protection programme.

His past returns to haunt him, however, when he drives his girlfriend Annie (Bell) for a once-in-a-lifetime job interview in LA, which just happens to be home to the criminals he double-crossed.

Also starring a dreadlocked Bradley Cooper, this is one of those gimmicky, talky crime dramas that flooded video shops in the mid-90s as every director and his dog attempted to cash in on the hip crime dramas of Quentin Tarantino.

s o.

Needless to say, if you hired this for two quid from Blockbuster 20 years back, you'd be reasonably happy.

Nowadays, it just won't do.
