DataCard transaction terminal approved for First Data Networks.

OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1995--First Data Corp.(R)/Card Services Group has approved the DataCard 640-SV transaction terminal for use on First Data's payment authorization networks.

The DataCard terminal features a large, 2-line x 16-character display that eliminates the need for confusing cryptic abbreviations. It offers a 20-position keypad that allows operators to complete transactions without complex codes. The 128K RAM allows users to store complex applications and still have capacity to handle large batch transactions.

"This is good news for our clients and the merchants they serve," said Pat Bazley, vice president of merchant sales for First Data. "Our merchant bank and ISO clients now will have more options -- including credit and debit -- and more flexibility when they're developing payment authorization solutions for their customers."

"We spent a lot of time talking to banks, ISOs and merchants to determine exactly what they want in a terminal," said John Miller, vice president of marketing for DataCard's transaction systems group. "We found a widespread need for a high capacity memory, a two-line display, ease of use and a low price. The 640-SV offer all of those advantages in one package."
