Nine regular papers and seven short papers from the April 2005 workshop explore ontologies in e-commerce, web services for database applications, e-commerce content and standards, e-commerce frameworks, and supporting technologies. The researchers propose a volume discount-based allocation mechanism for group buying, a hybrid method for efficient indexing of XML documents, and a framework for merging inconsistent beliefs in security protocol analysis. Other topics include a product ontology system developed for Korean government procurement, knowledge preconditions for composition of semantic web services, the application service provider (ASP) model, and UML snowflake diagrams for integrating XML data.
