Network protocol software provider Data Connection (DCL) announced on Friday that firewall company Palo Alto Networks is using its DC-OSPF and DC-RIP IP routing protocol stacks on the PA Series firewall products.

Data Connection said its portable IP routing protocol stacks enable the entire firewall family from Palo Alto Networks to participate in layer 3 routing networks as they enable enterprises to see and control applications, users and content.

No financial or pricing details were disclosed.
