SURESNES, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2000

Integration of ZEH technical output management applications

into the CATIA V5 environment

Dassault Systemes (NASDAQ: DASTY, Bourse de Paris) and ZEH Software, Inc. (ZEH) announce the signing of a Component Application Architecture (CAA) V5 development partnership agreement with ZEH Software, Inc. Through this development agreement, ZEH will create, market and sell technical output management applications that are fully integrated and complementary to CATIA V5 solutions.

The development of highly advanced digital applications for engineering and design has enabled companies to create exciting new products in record time and dramatically increase their productivity gains. With their business processes so significantly transformed, companies have to evolve their technical hardcopy output management systems to reach the highest level of efficiency and accuracy.

Amongst a wide range of functionalities, CATIA V5 offers standard printing possibilities on UNIX and NT environments. Most of the current graphic standards for printing are natively supported within CATIA V5, whose printing capabilities have been validated for major plotters and printers.

Through this CAA V5 development partnership, Dassault Systemes and ZEH now enable CATIA V5 users to take full control of the plotting process from within their CATIA V5 applications and to optimize the use of available resources within the company. As a result, two applications have been developed:

ZEHPRINT on CAA V5 is designed for the small- to medium-sized enterprise (SME) organizations. This solution provides the ability to print to a number of local or network plotters and printers, while keeping local control of printing and processing options. Users are also provided with efficient job tracking and device status within the CATIA V5 GUI.

ZEHSERVER on CAA V5 is an infrastructure plotting and printing solution suitable for larger, potentially heterogeneous, environments. This product provides connectivity to existing and future devices, centralized management of plotters and printers, and server-based processing for improved performance and greater workstation productivity. It facilitates collaborative engineering by allowing users to plot and print anywhere within the company.

"We have been providing solutions to Dassault Systemes clientele for years," said Jerry Martin, president of ZEH Software. "Some of Dassault's largest customers are also ZEH customers, so we are excited about this new development agreement with Dassault. We were very impressed with the CAA V5 architecture, which has allowed for tight integration and easy access to ZEH's advanced plotting and printing options. We are pleased to be an integral part of CATIA V5's plotting and printing."

"We are glad to welcome ZEH as one of the first Partners within our CAA V5 developers community." said Bruno Latchague, Executive VP R&D of Dassault Systems. "Through this development partnership, ZEH took advantage of the strength of the next generation V5 Component Application Architecture. With their two new products based on CAA V5, ZEH complies with our vision which is to sustain the development of our customers processes by implementing innovative solutions within their familiar V5 environment."

ZEH is a privately held company with headquarters in Houston, Texas and additional offices in London and Singapore. ZEH provides complete networking plotting and printing solutions for worldwide clients with multiple applications, systems, output devices and locations. With over 3,000 installations with 100,000 users in 63 countries, ZEH's clientele includes petroleum and chemical companies, engineering and design firms, government agencies and aircraft and automobile manufacturers.
