Darts: Four legs well within reach of fab Fitton.
LUGUBRIOUS Les Fitton is unlikely to be able to unplug The Power in tonight's main event, but the home favourite can definitely take four legs off him, writes Steve Davies.
Phil Taylor couldn't have asked for a tougher opener. Fitton, as a Lancashire lad, will have the Blackpool hordes roaring him on.
Sportingodds, who have produced handicap prices for every first round match, make Fitton an even money chance with a 6.5-point start.
Fitton, who is known on the tour as The Natural, was the only man to take a set off
Taylor at the 2001 World Championships and has a habit of running the big boys close.
In his last two serious spats with Ice Man Alan Warriner he lost in tie-breaks, and Fitton showed as recently as last month that he has the talent to take silverware by beating Peter Manley, Denis Ovens and teak-tough Kevin Painter to win the prestigious Sheppey Darts Classic.
