Danny's just elbow licking good!

Byline: By Denis Kilcommons

Among a list of amazing facts I published was: It is physically impossible for you to lick your elbow.

Go on. Try it.Impossible, right?

Oh no it isn't, say Melanie and Graham Lockwood of Golcar.

"We found your article on amazing facts very entertaining, but dare we question the validity of one of them? Our seven-year old son Danny takes great pleasure in showing his party piece to family and friends," says Melanie.

"Yes, we are proud to announce that our son can, in fact, lick his elbow."

Melanie is a book-keeper and Graham is a sales engineer and they have two sons, Danny and his older brother Jack, who is eight. They both go to St John's Church of England School in Golcar.

And does Jack have any amazing feats of physical dexterity?

"He can wriggle his ears, but that's about it."

These photograph prove the validity of Danny's claim but how did he find out he could do it in the first place? I mean, what drives a young man to lick his own elbow?

"You're right," says Melanie. "It is a strange thing to discover. We can't really remember how he came to achieve this feat, and to some extent it probably didn't seem strange at the time, because generally he is quite flexible."

Perhaps someone should inform Yorkshire County Cricket Club. When he grows up, he could turn into a heck of a spin bowler.
