Danish regulator clears Vestjysk, Aarhus tie-up.


27 March 2012 a[euro]" The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority has given the green light to the planned combination of local banks Vestjysk Bank A/S (CPH:VJBA) and Aarhus Lokalbank A/S (CPH:AARHUS).

The tie-up is still pending clearance by the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority and is also subject to the approval by the two partiesa[euro](tm) general meetings, Vestjysk Bank said in a press release on Tuesday.

In February, the boards of the two lenders entered into a merger plan under which Vestjysk would acquire Aarhus in an all-stock transaction.
