Dam of Generous up for sale as partners split.

THE dissolution of a partnership lies behind the sale of Doff The Derby, dam of dual Derby winner Generous, at Tattersalls December Sales.

David Nagle, owner of Barronstown Stud, explained yesterday: "Diane and I own half Doff The Derby and the other 50 per cent belongs to a conglomerate in New Zealand. We have all decided that the partnership should be dissolved."

Doff The Derby comes under the hammer on December 7 in foal to Entrepreneur amid suggestions that she could set a new record price for a broodmare.

Her Sadler's Wells' foal made a record 2.5 million gns at the same venue a year ago when bought by Satish Sanan-and she is responsible for four of the seven most expensive foals ever sold at Tattersalls.
