Dains hints on online tax returns cash; Legal & Finance.

Midlands accountants Dains is uring local businesses to check if they are due hundreds of pounds from the taxman.

Small businesses are entitled to cash incentives for filing their annual returns online. However the incentive of pounds 250 for 2005/06 returns is also available to any medium or large company who was not notified that paper returns are no longer permitted. Andy McQuillan at Dains said: "Employers with 50 or more employees now have to complete their annual returns electronically for the 2005/06 period in order to avoid a penalty.

"If your company was not notified that it fell into this category, you can still claim pounds 250 tax free from the Revenue if you complete your annual returns online."
