For pathologists, orthopedic surgeons, radiologists, and oncologists, Unni and Inwards (anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine and pathology, College of Medicine, Mayo Clinic) present a guide to different bone tumors and their diagnosis, including incidence, symptoms, physical findings, radiographic and pathologic features, treatment, and prognosis. This edition includes information about cases of bone tumors from the Mayo Clinic files up to the end of 2003. It has more emphasis on the handling of bone specimens, and grading and staging of neoplasms; replaces most of the illustrations to give more attention to computed tomographic and magnetic resonance images; and incorporates results of immunoperoxidase studies. Other new information relates to chondroblastoma, osteoblastoma, and parosteal osteosarcoma, and the section on neoplasm simulators has been expanded to include conditions like neuropathic joint that may present as a neoplasm. Includes online access.
