Dad took a lethal mix.

A father of three died in his bed after taking a lethal combination of anti-depressant pills and alcohol.

Alan Dunn, 42, of Benwell Lane, Newcastle, had an ongoing problem with alcohol and had become increasingly depressed after the death of his brother from cancer.

His family believe his death may have been a cry for help, as he was receiving counselling and was on a new course of anti-depressants. He was found by his partner, and mother of his three children, Jacqueline Brady at 6.30pm on October 13.

Newcastle coroner David Mitford recorded an open verdict.
