Dad fears German ISIS girl death sentence.

THE father of a German schoolgirl who joined the Islamic State before being captured in Mosul has told of his fears she will be sentenced to death.

Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi confirmed that 16-year-old Linda Wenzel might face the ultimate punishment.

He said: "You know teenagers, under certain laws, they are accountable for their actions especially if the act is a criminal activity when it amounts to killing innocent people."

The Iraqi leader said Linda Wenzel is still jailed in Baghdad and it would be "a case for the courts" to decide if prosecutors will demand her death.

Dad Reiner Wenzel said he feared for his daughter, adding: THREAT "The authorities absolutely have to bring her to Germany so that she can get a fair trial."

Linda vanished at the age of 15 after falling in love with a fundamentalist she met online, who she later married.

Reiner said he had not had contact with his daughter since she joined IS Haider al-Abadi but he was told she had not been involved in any acts of war.

The teenager was reportedly active in a group that checked women's attire and whipped anyone who flouted strict rules.

German diplomats are now trying to negotiate Linda's extradition to her homeland. Reiner said: "I want so much that Linda comes home healthy. I will always be there for her."
