Dad dies in tepee `sauna' tragedy.
Hospital worker Gordon Reynolds, 42, paid pounds 25 to join a group of worshippers for prayer in a "sweat lodge" on a farm at Wells, Somerset. They sat semi- naked for 90 minutes while water was poured on red-hot stones to create a sauna effect.
Father-of-two Mr Reynolds, from Twickenham in west London, collapsed suddenly and died.
An accidental death verdict was recorded at the inquest in Wells. Later, Mr Reynolds's widowPenny said: "Gordon loved exploring different cultures and religions. He was interested in this ancient culture but was no New Age crank."
She added: "The bottom line is that sweat lodges can kill. They are playing with fire and Gordon got burned.
"There must be safeguards and restrictions to protect people in future."
