 DYNCORP WINS $65 MILLION U.S. ARMY CONTRACT
 RESTON, Va., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- DynCorp, a professional and


technical services firm, announced today that its subsidiary Aerotherm Corporation has been awarded a U.S. Army contract to provide operation, maintenance, and development services in support of the High Energy Laser Systems Test Facility at the White Sands Missile Range, N.M. The facility is home to the most powerful laser system in the country and is managed by the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command. The site supports U.S. government, industry, and foreign government requirements for high energy laser research, development, test, and evaluation. The mission of the site includes conducting high energy laser lethality, damage and vulnerability testing of coupon, subscale, and full-sized targets as well as providing this country with a contingent anti-satellite capability. The site has a variety of other capabilities which include lower energy lasers and a large vacuum chamber for space environment testing. The five year contract is valued at $65 million.
 According to DynCorp President and CEO Dan R. Bannister, "The contract underscores DynCorp's ability to support out nation's critical high technology test and evaluation defense needs." Bannister noted that the contract will be managed by Dr. Charles Nardo, senior vice president and general manager of Aerotherm, located in Mountain View, Calif.
 Headquartered in Reston, DynCorp was the 38th largest U.S. defense contractor in 1991, providing professional and technical services to U.S. and foreign government agencies and the commercial aviation industry.
