DYNCORP WINS $28 MILLION U.S. NAVY CONTRACT

RESTON, Va., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- DynCorp, a diversified professional and technical services firm, has been awarded a U.S. Navy contract to provide operation and maintenance support at the Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE). The four-year contract is valued at $28.7 million.
SCORE is the U.S. Navy's premier acoustic range where more than 80 percent of the U.S. Pacific Fleet is trained on Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). Under the contract, DynCorp personnel operate and maintain ASW and Electronic Warfare training systems at the Range Operations Center in North Island, Calif., and on San Clemente Island, approximately 70 miles northwest of San Diego. Additionally, DynCorp operates and maintains SCORE's state-of-the-art Tactical Mission Analysis System used to track and monitor training exercises performed by the Pacific Fleet. During the contract term, SCORE will begin multi- warfare training scenarios including Anti-Surface Warfare and aerial mining, as well as Anti-Submarine Warfare and Electronic Warfare.
According to DynCorp Government Services Group President Paul Lombardi, the SCORE contract is an important part of DynCorp's core business with the Navy. "The SCORE is one of the most state-of- the-art training ranges in the world. In light of the force drawdown and military budget cuts, the mission of the SCORE becomes even more crucial to the defense of our interests at home and around the world. DynCorp is pleased to continue its technical support of this mission."
Headquartered in Reston, DynCorp provides professional and technical services to U.S. and foreign government agencies and commercial aviation customers worldwide.
