DYNCORP RECEIVES EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS FOR VETERAN EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES

 RESTON, Va., Nov. 19 ~PRNewswire~ -- DynCorp, a diversified professional and technical services company, has been named Outstanding Employer of the Year by the state of California. DynCorp is being recognized for its employment and retention of veterans at its Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS) contract in Alameda, Calif. DynCorp has received similar awards from the American Legion in Virginia, Kentucky, Texas and New Mexico.
 DynCorp is also the recipient of an Outstanding Service in the Employment of Veterans Award from the Oakland Employment Development Department in Oakland, Calif., and the 1992 Governors Award for Employer Excellence, also from the California state government.
 According to DynCorp President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Bannister the company has a strong commitment to hiring, training and promoting veterans.
 "Our company was started by a group of World War II veterans in 1946. Today, veterans continue to make up a significant portion of our employee population. In 1991, 30 percent of our incoming work force were veterans," said Bannister.
 Headquartered in Reston, DynCorp provides professional and technical services to U.S. and foreign governments worldwide. DynCorp has provided logistics support for the Navy's Fleet Hospital Program in Alameda, since 1988.
