DYNCORP EMPLOYEE WINS ARMY AVIATION AWARD, MAKING DYNCORP EIGHT-TIME WINNER

RESTON, Va., Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- DynCorp employee Earl West has received the Army Aviation Association of America's (AAAA) Materiel Readiness Award for contributions by an Individual Member of Industry. This is the third consecutive year a DynCorp employee has received this prestigious award. Over the past four years, DynCorp's Fort Rucker Division or one of its employees has been a recipient of a AAAA Materiel Readiness Award on three occasions. Overall, this is the eighth AAAA award received by DynCorp.
With more than 30 years experience in aviation, aerospace and heavy industry, West is chief of Advanced Helicopter Avionics Systems at DynCorp's Fort Rucker Division, Ala. Noteworthy among his many accomplishments at Fort Rucker, West significantly upgraded the depot level repair capabilities with the design of test boxes which identify faulty components in an aircraft's numerous electrical systems. The prototype has attracted the attention of the entire aviation logistics community and has already saved Fort Rucker nearly $2 million. West is also involved in a number of unique programs supporting the Apache, Kiowa Warrior, and other complex aircraft.
As noted in the award nomination, no one person at Fort Rucker or in the Army has a greater impact on AH-64 Apache readiness worldwide than Earl West. According to Government Services Group President Paul V. Lombardi: "Whether it's people, costs, materials, availability, readiness, or maintenance procedures, West influences the actions. He is one of those rare individuals whose leadership and professional competence have earned him the complete trust of the labor force, the management team, and the U.S. Army."
Headquartered in Reston, DynCorp is one of the largest U.S. defense contractors. One of the largest employee-owned companies in the country, DynCorp provides professional and technical services to U.S. and foreign government agencies and commercial clients worldwide. DynCorp has been providing maintenance and related support at Fort Rucker since 1988.
