DYNCORP BECOMES CERTIFIED PROVIDER OF CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

RESTON, Va., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- DynCorp, a professional and technical services firm, was recently approved as a Certified Provider of continuing education and training programs by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). As such, DynCorp is authorized to award continuing education units (CEUs) to individuals who successfully complete any of their six Quality Improvement courses, which teach the concepts of Deming-based Total Quality Management. Required by numerous professional accrediting organizations, CEUs are nationally recognized units of measure for continuing education and training.
According to DynCorp President and CEO Dan R. Bannister, the IACET looked at every aspect of the company's Quality Improvement training effort. In an intensive six-month review, the IACET examined course objectives, instructor qualifications, the learning environment, student feedback, and course record-keeping. "The ultimate endorsement of our quality curriculum by the IACET underscores the excellence we are committed to maintaining in every aspect of our quality culture," said Bannister.
DynCorp first implemented its quality improvement system in 1989, considerably ahead of many of its competitors. To date the company has trained more than 15,000 employees at 50 operating locations. Working individually and in teams, these employees have developed improvements providing an estimated return of more than $5 million to DynCorp and its customers.
The IACET is a nonprofit organization of over 650 organizations and individuals involved in continuing education and training. Members include organizations and individuals representing professional associations, business and industry, higher education institutions, government agencies, health organizations, regulatory agencies, and proprietary schools.
Headquartered in Reston, DynCorp is one of the largest majority employee-owned companies in the nation. Serving customers in the federal government and the commercial aviation industry, the company employs more than 20,000 people at more than 200 locations worldwide.
