DYNATECH COMMUNICATIONS ANNOUNCES MULTICAST FOR THE CPX L20 NODAL PROCESSOR

WOODBRIDGE, Va., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynatech Communications will enhance is popular high performance CPX L20 level III nodal processor packet switch later this year with the introduction of multicast capabilities. The CPX L20 nodal processor fully implements the CCITT packet level recommendations, provides auto reconnect, local data acknowledgement, load sharing and enhanced routing facilities.
John Merryman, manager of business development, said, "With the CPX L20, Dynatech provides a nodal processor with resiliency capability such as load sharing, enhanced routing allowing the nodal processor to remote a failed call attempt towards an alternate path, and automatic reconnection in the event of a trunk failure between two CPX L20s."
The CPX L20 multicast capability allows a source to bidirectionally send and receive messages to/from multiple destinations. This capability allows a standard multi-drop leased line architecture to be replaced by an X.25 packet solution which provides guaranteed message delivery and cost savings.
