DYNATEC ANNOUNCES PRELIMINARY FISCAL YEAR-END EARNINGS

SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Dynatec International Inc. (NASDAQ: DYNX) announced preliminary FY June 30, 1993, earnings. President and CEO Donald M. Wood stated, "Year-end results for sales will total approximately $7,500,000 vs. $6,172,958 for the same period last year." Wood continued, "Operating earnings were especially strong, about $.65 per share vs. $.43 for the last year. One-time sales of assets added another $.10 in 1992, but apples to apples, $.65 vs. $.43 indicates the strong sales of solid, staple products that should continue to expand in the future." Wood was particularly pleased with the addition of the Fuji Novel battery line added in the first quarter of 1994 fiscal year (July-September) and predicts solid long-term growth from this major line.
In addition to the strong earnings Wood emphasized the excellent balance sheet improvements. The current ratio has improved to 2.3 to 1 from 1.2 to 1 from the previous year and the debt to worth ratio improved to .75 to 1 from 1 to 1. Both indicators, according to Wood, reflect the commitment of the company to improve its financial position.
In addition to the preliminary financial results, Wood stated that the Fuji Novel battery line for the United States and Mexico could substantially increase future results. He is optimistic about Dynatec's ability to market the batteries in its marketing channels. In anticipation of potentially large increases in sales and attendant increases in inventory, Wood announced Dynatec had reached a verbal commitment with an international financial organization to raise additional capital through a regulation S offering to be sold only to foreign, non-American citizens. The Regulation S stock is a form of restricted stock commonly sold overseas by U.S. companies at 50 percent of the bid price. Dynatec has agreed to sell 100,000 shares at $3.50 per share. "Considering that Dynatec sold around the $4.00 range in the open market about a month ago, this is an outstanding opportunity for Dynatec to raise capital for future needs," according to Wood.
Final FYE June 30, 1993, financial results will be released prior to Sept. 30, 1993, through its annual 10-K report submitted to the SEC. Additional details about specific financial and marketing results and future expectations will also be reported to the public.
