DYNAIR TECH OF CALIFORNIA FORMED TO PRODUCE
 AND MARKET IN-FLIGHT FOOD CARTS
RESTON, Va., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint release today DynCorp Aviation Services, Inc. (DynAir), and Technology Dynamics Group, Inc. (TDG), of Pleasanton, Calif., announced the formation of a joint venture company to market a heated entree cart system to the aviation industry. The new company, DynAir Tech of California, will manage a consortium of companies formed as a team to manufacture the In-flight Quick Serve (IQS) system.
IQS offers a turnkey program -- galley carts; associated equipment (including a recycling program); an automated inventory management program; maintenance support; training aids; and financial services including lease and rental programs. The IQS cart itself is unique in design and function, constructed from a single piece of lightweight composite material. The watertight cart has a single, integral electrical connection and can be washed without corroding, using automatic equipment. With the accompanying controller, heating and chilling are independently controlled from a single source.
According to DynAir President Dick Webb, "We are very pleased to launch DynAir Tech of California and expand the range of products and services DynAir offers to domestic and international airlines." TDG President Jerry Bench added: "This new and unique galley cart system provides air carriers with an efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sound alternative for in-flight food services, at the same time improving the quality of the airline passengers' meal service."
DynAir is one of the largest aviation support organizations in the United States. With more than 4,000 employees at 80 airports nationwide, DynAir provides heavy aircraft maintenance and overhaul; ramp, passenger and cargo handling; airplane fueling, avionics repair and temporary technical personnel services for scheduled, charter and cargo carriers worldwide. The parent company, DynCorp, is an employee-owned professional and technical services firm headquartered in Reston. Technology Dynamics Group, Inc. (TDG), was founded in 1991. In addition to the IQS cart, TDG offers an electro-thermal ice protection system for commercial aircraft. TDG developed the IQS cart technology in concert with a number of companies.
