 DYERSBURG FILES FOR OFFERING
 DYERSBURG, Tenn., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dyersburg Corporation


announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to 6.2 million shares of its common stock. 4.25 million shares will be sold by the company and 1.95 million shares will be sold by certain selling stockholders. Prior to the proposed public offering there has been no public market for the common stock. Application will be made to list the shares on the New York Stock Exchange.
 The First Boston Corporation, Morgan, Keegan & Company, Inc. and Wheat First Butcher & Singer Capital Markets will co-manage an underwriting syndicate for the proposed new issue.
 The company will use the proceeds from the proposed offering to retire debt and to pay a dividend to its existing shareholders. The company will not receive any of the proceeds from the proposed sale by the selling stockholders.
 The company through its wholly owned subsidiary, Dyersburg Fabrics Inc., is one of the largest manufacturers of fleece fabrics sold to the domestic apparel manufacturing industry and also produces jersey fabric used in manufacturing women's and children's apparel.
 This announcement is neither an offer to sell nor a solicitation of an offer to buy shares of common stock. The offering will be made only by means of a prospectus.
