 DYERSBURG ANNOUNCES INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING
 DYERSBURG, Tenn., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Dyersburg Corporation


announced today the initial public offering of 4.6 million shares of common stock at $9 per share. Certain selling shareholders have granted the underwriters an option to purchase up to an additional 690,000 shares to cover over-allotments, if any. The common stock will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "DBG".
 The First Boston Corporation, Morgan Keegan & Company, Inc. and Wheat First Butcher & Singer Capital Markets are the managers of the underwriting syndicate offering the stock to the public.
 Net proceeds to the company, together with proceeds drawn from a new bank credit facility by its wholly owned subsidiary Dyersburg Fabrics Inc., will be used, among other things, to repay and refinance indebtedness of the company and Dyersburg Fabrics, and pay concurrently with the consumation of the offering, a $5 million dividend to the holders of the company's common stock prior to the offering.
 The company, through Dyersburg Fabrics, is one of the largest manufacturers of fleece fabrics sold to the domestic "cut and sew" apparel manufacturing industry and also produces jersey fabric used in manufacturing women's and children's apparel.
