DVDS out tomorrow.
This is a must-see for those who like onscreen scrapping gritty and realistic. This is proper streetfighting with improvised weapons galore. It is made even more effective by its use of the urban sport parkour - running over obstacles such as rooftops and walls. This film from the great Luc Besson is a cult hit in the making. Superb.
BLADE RUNNER (15)
I never quite got Blade Runner. Sure, it's a decent enough science fiction effort but hardly the defining moment of cinema so many consider it to be. Still, it's back to celebrate the imminent 25th anniversary with this previously-released cut from Ridley Scott, with Harrison Ford's commentary and the happy ending removed.
VIVA LA BAM 4 AND 5 (15)
Skateboard king and Jackass star Bam - one of the more likeable of that bunch of hilarious reprobates - brings us two more seasons of his great MTV spin-off show. If you didn't enjoy Jackass, steer clear but if you liked it you'll love seeing Bam's long-suffering parents Phil and April suffer more outrageous antics from their beloved son.
RV: RUNAWAY VACATION (PG)
Robin Williams is on good form as Bob Munro, a depressed manager who feels isolated from his family. So he does the worst possible thing - hires a motorhome and drags them off on holiday together. Look out for Jeff Daniels on top form as an RV obsessive barbecuer an some great throwaway lines.
MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL(15)
Python has always been hit or miss for me but this particular flick falls firmly in the former camp. It's great fun as the usual crew retell the King Arthur tale in their own unique way. Michael Palin and John Cleese are among those who provide great sniping on the extras and commentaries. A must for Python fans.
