DUKE POWER RECEIVES NRC NOTICE OF VIOLATIONS AT CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION
 YORK, S.C., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Duke Power Co. (NYSE: DUK) today received notice from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) of a violation related to occurrences at the Catawba Nuclear Station last fall.
 None of the occurrences affected the safe operation of the plant or posed any danger to the public or to employees.
 These errors occurred while specific maintenance and surveillance activities were being performed inside the plant. Each occurrence was identified by Duke Power and reported to the NRC.
 "Our performance standards are high. We have not met those standards and are continuing our efforts to improve," Mike Tuckman, Catawba site vice president, said.
 Duke has 30 days in which to prepare a response for the NRC.
