DUANE E. COLLINS ELECTED TO NATIONAL CITY BANK'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 CLEVELAND, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ --Duane E. Collins, vice chairman of Parker Hannifin Corporation (NYSE: PH), was elected to the board of directors of National City Bank today.
 "Mr. Collins brings valuable experience to our board. We are delighted to have him join and are grateful to have the benefit of his leadership," said David A. Daberko, chairman and chief executive officer, National City Bank.
 Collins was named vice chairman of Parker Hannifin in June, 1992 having joined the company 31 years earlier. He is responsible for Parker's worldwide industrial operations and is located at the company's headquarters in Cleveland.
 He began his career with Parker Hannifin as a sales engineer in 1961, with early assignments in regional sales positions throughout the United States. He served in various capacities in both the hose and fluid connectors divisions before being named corporate vice president in 1983, president of the international division in 1987, and corporatee?cuti ve ice president and president - international in 1988.
 A graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, he also attended the advanced management program of Harvard University. He serves on the board of trustees of the Cleveland YMCA.
