 WILMINGTON, Del., March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninety-nine Delaware

teachers will receive 1992 Du Pont (NYSE: DD) mini-grants to support new teaching techniques and innovative educational projects.
The mini-grants are open to anyone teaching kindergarten through 12th grade in Delaware.
Du Pont annually sets aside $50,000 for grants ranging from $150 to $1,500.
The winners were chosen from more than 200 applications that were judged by a committee representing Delaware's public, independent and parochial schools, the American Association of University Women, the Science Alliance, the University of Delaware and Du Pont.
The 1992 winners are involved in 72 projects including creation of an outdoor nature study area, music appreciation, understanding the human body and health issues and a firsthand look at a tropical rain forest. Several programs focus on the family as the key to improving reading and math skills by encouraging parental involvement in their child's education. Others address the importance of enhancing a child's early educational experience.
Du Pont has supported education in science and engineering for more than 70 years. The mini-grant program is part of a corporate aid-to- education program annually distributes more than $15 million worldwide. In 1992, Du Pont said it expects to contribute almost $2 million to support programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education for pre- college students.
