DU PONT APPOINTS PAUL V. TEBO VICE PRESIDENT-SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT

WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Du Pont (NYSE: DD) announced today that Paul V. Tebo has been appointed vice president- safety, health and environment.
In this new position, Tebo will lead the Du Pont Safety, Health and Environment Excellence Center and will serve as vice chairman of the Environmental Leadership Council. He will report to Edgar S. Woolard Jr., chairman of the board.
Succeeding Tebo as vice president and general manager-chemicals and intermediates in Du Pont Chemicals is John W. Snyder.
The Safety, Health and Environment Excellence Center was established last fall to integrate and leverage policy making, oversight and implementation through direct links to the business sectors. The Excellence Center is based on six areas of emphasis that are consistent with the Chemical Manufacturers' Association Responsible Care Codes of Management Practice: environmental stewardship; employee safety and health; process safety management; product stewardship; community awareness and emergency response; and product distribution.
Tebo assumes leadership of the Excellence Center from Paul Z. Larson and Bruce W. Karrh. Larson continues as vice president-manufacturing for Du Pont Chemicals, and Karrh continues as vice president-integrated health care.
Tebo has held a variety of research, planning, technical and business management positions since joining Du Pont in 1968.
In addition to his new responsibilities, Snyder will continue to lead the global nylon and polyester enterprises.
Snyder joined Du Pont in 1965 at its Seaford, Del., plant. He has held numerous positions with the Fibers businesses including manufacturing, marketing, financial analysis, technical, planning and business management. His most recent position was vice president- corporate plans.
