 DU PONT ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES
 WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Du Pont (NYSE: DD) W. Earl


Tatum, senior vice president-materials, logistics and services, has been named senior vice president-imaging systems and medical products, Du Pont announced today.
 Tatum will succeed Mark A. Suwyn, who will retire from Du Pont early next year. Suwyn is taking advantage of current restructuring activities to pursue other opportunities outside the company. Pending his retirement, Suwyn will serve as special assistant to Chairman Edgar S. Woolard Jr.
 John J. Quindlen, senior vice president-finance, will assume responsibility for materials, logistics and services in addition to his current duties.
 "Mark has made many important contributions to Du Pont during his career in fibers, corporate plans, human resources and, in recent years, imaging systems and medical products," Woolard said. "He was instrumental in forming the joint venture with Merck. He has provided strong leadership for Du Pont's marketing function and has raised the consciousness of employees and management in the important areas of affirmative action and diversity. We will miss his positive attitude as well as his openness and creativity."
 Tatum, 58, joined Du Pont in 1958 as a research chemist at the Experimental Station. He held various marketing, research, manufacturing and management positions in polymers, eventually heading the films and fluoropolymers units. He became director of corporate environmental affairs in 1980, then general manager and later vice president of materials and logistics. He was a vice president- international in 1984, returning to what is now materials, logistics and services in 1985.
 Suwyn, 49, joined Du Pont in 1967. His early career was devoted primarily to fibers research and development, including assignments at the Seaford, Del., and Richmond, Va., sites. He was named product manager of industrial fibers in 1976. In 1980, he became marketing director of carpet fibers and fiberfill after a two-year assignment in corporate plans to develop approaches to corporate portfolio management. He became general manager and then vice president of employee relations (now human resources) in 1983, vice president-photosystems and electronic products in 1985, and group vice president-imaging systems in 1986. He assumed his present position in 1988.
 Quindlen, 59, joined Du Pont in 1954 in the accounting division of treasurer's. He has held a series of increasingly responsible financial positions over the years and was named vice president and comptroller in 1980. He became senior vice president-finance and chief financial officer in 1984 and last year joined the Office of the Chairman.
