DRUGS QUIZ PAIR MOW DOWN COPS.
SUSPECTED drug dealers knocked down two police officers who tried to arrest them.
The undercover detectives were trying to detain the two men when the pair reversed their car into them, knocking one down and driving over the other.
The two police officers are now off duty after suffering head and leg injuries.
The suspects were prevented from escaping by a string of police cars which rushed to surround them outside the Halfway House pub in Childwall.
Merseyside police had been carrying out a plain-clothes operation in the pub car park on Woolton Road to tackle drug dealing when they spotted a pair of suspects in a vehicle at 8.30pm on Saturday.
Two officers went to speak to the men but when they signalled to colleagues that they were going to make the arrests the driver reversed into them.
Both car doors were open and they knocked the two officers to the ground - with one being dragged under the wheels of the car.
The suspects hit two cars as they tried to drive out of the car park but could not get past a ring of police vans and were detained on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm, possession of a controlled drug and driving offences.
One officer had a minor head injury and the other injured his knee.
DCI Nikki Holland, of Merseyside police, said: "Both are at home recovering from their injuries."
The two men arrested at the pub - aged 23 and 28 and both from Liverpool - were released on bail.
