DRUG ARRESTS AFTER GIRL, 14, DIES AT PARTY; Gabi collapsed with a heart attack.
A WOMAN and teenage boy have been arrested after a girl died of a fatal heart attack as she apparently took drugs at a party.
The pair, aged 39 and 17, were quizzed on suspicion of dealing to Gabrielle Price, 14, when paramedics treating her alerted police. She had suddenly become ill at the house party and collapsed in front of horrified guests.
Neighbours saw ambulance workers frantically trying to revive the girl, known as Gabi.
Anita Cullen revealed: "They brought someone out of the house on a stretcher.
"She was all covered up and you could just see her feet. She didn't look in a good way."
Gabi was taken to hospital but doctors were unable to save her and she died hours later. The woman and boy were arrested and questioned after the incident at an estate in Brighton on Saturday night. They were later released on police bail until next month.
Postmortem tests into the death have initially proved inconclusive and officers were yesterday expecting the toxicology results.
Tributes have been paid to the popular teenager, who was a student at 1,070-pupil Davison Church of England High School for Girls in Worthing, West Sussex.
Headteacher Della West said: "The school is very shocked. She was a popular girl. She was quirky, with her own individual style.
"She loved music and was hoping to use her creativity in a future career. She will be missed."
