DRS awarded Navy contract to provide engineering services for combat system computer networks.
The contract is valued at $19.4 million, including options.
An initial $3.3 million contract was received by DRS from the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Port Hueneme in San Diego, California. Work for this contract will be performed by the company's DRS Technical Services unit in San Diego, California. Services have commenced and will continue through October, 2007.
DRS will work closely with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, providing test and evaluation, in-service engineering and integrated logistics support services for the combat systems and subsystems of the Navy's surface fleet.

DRS Technical Services provides field engineering, integrated logistics support, depot maintenance, repair, installation and other technical support for many DRS products, as well as those produced by other companies. It delivers comprehensive services and support needed to develop, install, configure, integrate and test and document information technology systems. Technology services include site preparation, hardware and software installation, applications programming, integration and program acceptance testing, and analysis of test results.
