DRIVETIME: MOTORING: Carrera supercar purrs with power.
This is the fire-breathing new Porsche Carrera GT sports car which will be making its debut next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
The 204mph supercar is powered by a huge 5.7-litre V10 engine which was developed for motorsport.
The Carrera GT enters a whole new dimension in terms of driving performance. It has an acceleration time from zero to 62mph in a mind-boggling 3.9 seconds and on to 120mph in just under 10.
All this power is run through a specially developed six-speed manual gearbox and the supercar's body is made entirely of carbon fibre.
Carrera GT will be produced at the new Porsche state-of-the-art production facility in Leipzig and deliveries to customers will begin at the end of the 2003.
Prices will be confirmed later in the year, but unless you've won the lottery, don't bother.
